What the Troubadour Foundation does.

The Troubadour Foundation raises funds and provides assistance for projects that help sustain Australian folk culture. Leading Australian and international folk artists have supported Troubadour Foundation projects (such as Festival Folk Sing CDs) since its foundation in 2007

Our activities and support include:

Loans and grants for CD production
Many musicians have benefited from a grant towards their CD production costs or a loan, repayable from the sales of the CDs.

Financial assistance for folk community projects
The Foundation contributed to the Save St Brigid's community fund, supporting a vibrant rural community to hold on to their former church and hall as a community and cultural centre.
Associates of the foundation have formerly had a long and valued relationship with the National Folk Festival and contributed to the Rolling the Ball fund for the acquisition of a permanent dance floor in the Fitzroy Pavilion.

Hardship support
The Troubadour Foundation's support includes times of hardship such as health, or loss from natural disasters.

Thanks to the support of the Australian Folk Alliance, Cloudstreet received an opportunity to showcase Australian performers at the International Folk Alliance in Memphis USA. Their travel costs were subsidised by the Foundation.
Community Music Victoria, a not-for-profit, membership-based association, which supports, promotes and facilitates music-making among Victorian communities has similar aims to the Foundation. The Foundation contributed to one of its fund-raisers.
